Web of Science : Publons

  :  04 Apr 2019

Exciting news! ResearcherID and Publons, both part of the Web of Science Group, are coming together so you can get all the benefits of Web of ScienceResearcherID, andPublons in one place.

From 15 April Publons will be the new environment where you can add your publications, track citations, and manage your publication records across Web of Science. Your currentResearcherID account will be inaccessible from 12 - 14 April while it is moved to Publons.

With your Web of Science ResearcherID hosted on Publons you will also be able to track your peer review history and journal editing work right alongside your publications and citations — showing a more complete record of your research impact.

For now, no action required! Just go with the flow. We'll let you know when your ResearcherID is available on Publons, where you'll find all your claimed publication history has been transferred over, and you can start making the most of all the additional features:

  • All your publications, easily imported from Web of Science, ORCID, or your bibliographic reference manager (e.g. EndNote, Zotero or Mendeley)
  • Trusted citation metrics, automatically updated based on the editorially curatedWeb of Science Core Collection, which includes more than 21,000 of the world's best journals
  • Your verified peer review and journal editing history, powered by partnerships with thousands of scholarly journals showing your additional contributions
  • Downloadable academic record summarizing your scholarly impact as an author, editor and peer reviewer, which you can use for promotion and career discussions

Don't worry if you already have a Publons profile; we will combine your ResearcherID andPublons accounts and ensure no data is lost.

Don’t want your ResearcherID moved to Publons?
We’re only moving public ResearcherIDs. Change your ResearcherID privacy settings to “private” before 11 April and it won’t be moved to Publons

Note: If you set your ResearcherID to “private”, it will no longer be accessible from 12 April 2019. Your saved publication lists will still be accessible in EndNote and you can create a new ResearcherID on Publons at any point in the future by registering a new profile and claiming at least one Web of Science publication.
